The Ortega PTO partners with a rotating lineup of vendors to offer hands-on, inspiring enrichment classes right on campus. You may hear this called ASEP — it stands for the After-School Enrichment Program, and it means these classes. Programs may include art, coding, sports, STEM, and more — check Homeroom each session for the full lineup.

📌 Programs, schedules, and availability are managed by individual vendors. All registration and class communication happens through Homeroom.

Before you register

  1. After registering your student, all communication regarding the individual class will be handled directly by the provider.
  2. Please notify your child’s teacher and their aftercare program of their enrollment in an ASEP class. While teachers may assist with transitions between programs, it is ultimately the participating family's responsibility to plan for these transitions.
  3. Students in TK and Kindergarten will be met at their regular classroom and walked to the location of the enrichment program. After their enrichment class, TK and Kinder students will be walked to their onsite aftercare program (either Happy Halls/Strata or Boys and Girls Club), if applicable.
  4. TK/K classes will run from 12:30-1:30 until October 12th, after which they will run from 1:30-2:30. This aligns with updates to this year's bell schedule.
  5. Students in grades 1-5 are expected to find their enrichment on their own after the school day ends. For 1st graders, it may be helpful to remind your student in the morning or find a buddy for them to walk with after school.
  6. Non-Wednesday classes that include Grades 1-5 or 3-5 will begin at 2:30 with a supervised snack time for 1st-3rd graders. Instruction will begin at 2:55 when older students arrive. Snacks are not provided by the enrichment program and must be brought by students.
  7. ASEP providers are unable to transport students to offsite aftercare programs, including Boys and Girls Club for Grades 1-5.
