Frequently asked questions

How is my donation used?
Donations to the Ortega PTO fund programs that benefit students: garden science, art, P.E., and library programs; field trips and on-campus assemblies; classroom supplies and teacher reimbursements; community events like Fall Fest, the Variety Show, and movie nights; and campus improvements. Card processing fees are deducted by our payment provider; everything after that goes to the programs above. The PTO publishes an annual budget summary at each general meeting.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Ortega Elementary PTO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our Tax ID (EIN) is 14-1914941. You'll receive an email receipt immediately after your gift is processed — save it for your records.
Can I make a recurring gift?
Yes. Pick one of the monthly amounts on the Back to School Giving Challenge page — your gift repeats automatically each month, and you can cancel anytime from the receipt email. Want a different amount or an annual gift? Email treasurer@ortegapto.org and we'll set it up.
Who do I contact with questions?
For questions about your donation or tax receipt, email treasurer@ortegapto.org. For general questions about the PTO, email info@ortegapto.org.
