School supplies for the 2026–27 school year

What your child needs depends on their grade. TK–2nd families buy from their teacher’s class list. Grades 3–5 contribute $30 per student and the teacher buys the classroom supplies — here’s what you still need to pack, and the long list you can skip.

We are so excited to welcome our new TK and Kindergarten students to Ortega! This event is for the incoming TK/Kindergarten kids and their parent/guardians so they can meet their teacher, check out their new classroom, and enjoy a free Otter pop! Ortega spirit wear will also be available for purchase!

PTO-hosted Ice Cream Social

Please join us for our Ice Cream Social on Friday, 8/14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the on the big yard! Families can come hang out and get a little treat for successfully completing the first week of school. It can be hard transitioning from summer days back into a school routine, so let's celebrate this accomplishment with some fun and treats!

Back to School Night is Tuesday, 8/18, from 5:00-6:30 PM. It's a great chance for you to see your child's classroom, meet their teacher, and learn about various ways you can be involved in the Otter Community.

Give to our Back to School Giving Challenge

This year, we are challenging our community to start strong by getting at least 100 families signed up for monthly recurring donations to the Annual Fund & raising $30,000 during our Back-to-School Giving Challenge. A recurring gift of any amount provides reliable support throughout the year and helps the PTO plan ahead with confidence.
