Back to School Giving Challenge

One direct gift funds a whole year of programs for Ortega students.

What your gift makes possible

$300invested per student, every school year

That's what it takes to fully fund enrichment programs, support our teachers and staff, and improve our campus — and we can't do it without you.

Here's how your $300 works across the school year:

  • Art education

    $80

60 minutes of art education & creative expression per week

  • Garden science

    $73

60 minutes per week for TK–2nd graders, plus a weekly garden science club for interested 3rd–5th graders

  • P.E. for all

    $49

60 minutes of Lagarza Sports P.E. per student per week, plus P.E. equipment

  • Teacher support

    $45

Curriculum & supply support for teachers, Scholastic News subscriptions, and supplies & assemblies for TK/K

  • Community & student enrichment

    $26

Assemblies, student council, peacemaker & buddies activities, science night, global village, and many other enrichment events

  • Supplemental support for families

    $19

Yearbook stipends, field trip stipends & supplemental school supplies

Those six add up to $292. The last $8 covers this student's share of PTO operating costs — $4,050 for the whole year, under 3.2% of the budget.

Every gift is tax-deductible — you'll get an email receipt right away.

Give monthly

Small amounts add up: a monthly gift spreads your support across the school year. Cancel anytime from your receipt email.

Want a different amount, or an annual gift? Email treasurer@ortegapto.org and we'll set it up.

Double your gift: many employers match charitable donations dollar-for-dollar. Check with your HR team — a matched gift goes twice as far, once or every month.

Together, we make a difference

Ortega Elementary PTO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law (Tax ID 14-1914941). Save your receipt for your records and your employer's matching program.
